What Should Recent Grads Expect at STC Direct?
Compensation is base salary plus uncapped commission, with performance bonuses tied to results. Most grads see their first commission check within their first two weeks on the team. We promote from within, which means most of our account executives, management trainees, and office leads are two to four years out of their own college graduation. Do I need a business or marketing degree to apply?
No. We hire grads from every major — biology, communications, sociology, education, anthropology, criminal justice, you name it. We are looking for work ethic, coachability, and good people skills, not a specific transcript.
How is this different from a corporate “rotational program”?
Corporate rotational programs typically pay less, take 18 to 24 months to complete, and lock you into a single track. We pay better from day one, promote in months rather than years, and let you choose your path based on what you are strong at.
Is the office close to Temple, Drexel, or the Main Line?
Our office sits in the Greater Philadelphia metro with reasonable commutes from Center City, North Philly, University City, and the Main Line. We have current reps commuting from each.
What if I do not know what I want to do long-term?
Most of our reps did not either when they started. The role gives you direct exposure to sales, account management, recruiting, operations, and leadership — by your 12-month mark, you will have a much clearer sense of where you want to grow.
Can I apply during my senior year?
Yes. We hire on a rolling basis and can start you anywhere from immediately after graduation to a couple of months into the summer. Get the application in early and we will work with your schedule.
